Abstract: 

Tehran as a symbol of Iranian modernity has been considered in many Iranian fiction films. Representation of Tehran in cinema can be the representation of Iranian modernity revolution. This study focuses on the representation of Urban image in Iranian fiction films through critical theories such as Simmel or Benjamin opinions. In this article we discus about the mediator role of cinema for representing the Urban life image and confliction of modernity in Iran. Meanwhile some megalopolis such as Paris, Berlin, Moscow, New York and sanpitersboorg est. have had great opportunity for understanding confliction of modernity in their situation, Tehran has never have that chance. Regarding to this vacuum we want to explain the role of Iranian fiction films for understanding the entrance of modernity consequences in different eras. We believed that fiction films can represent confliction of city and village, represent of modern dualities, non-cohesive rationality and many other gaps in Iranian modernity that we have to know.

Abstract: 

Problem statement: Nowadays, considering the age of globalization, Urban branding is reflected very important by means of a great opportunity for cities existing in global competition. In this regard, the main purpose of Urban branding is creating an attractive image for the city and the Urban branding approach has centered on the concept of the city’ s image. For Urban branding and effectiveness of city, the image of the city can be a tool and even a goal. Research objectives: Regarding the importance of this issue, the objectives of this research are theoretical explanation of the components of city image and their relation to Urban branding. Research methods: The present study was conducted as a descriptive-analytic theoreticalpractical study. The method of data collection is documentary-libraries. Conclusion: The image of the city is formed in two ways: direct (experience of the environment) and indirect (influenced by the advertisement). Undoubtedly, it has a primary component which includes the design dimensions, physical structures, cognition, awareness, and the functional dimension of the environment. On the other hand, it includes the complementary component that encompasses the evaluative, affective, likeability, and emotional dimensions. They are formed after understanding the primary component. Branding focuses on the concept of image and utilizes physical, socio-cultural and infrastructural techniques to influence the primary component of the image. By this way, it also makes the space more attractive for the complementary component to emerge. The advertising technique also enhances the influence and impact of the two mentioned components in branding and ultimately enhances the image from the exterior point of view (tourists) and the interior point of view(citizens).

Abstract: 

In city planning, a fundamental point is to evaluate the city image. The concept of city image is multidimensional. This study evaluate the city image of Tehran and its consequences. Tehran regenerates for many years. This modernization process creates new city image, Urban identity and new relationship between residents. This study has qualitative approach. Interview and thematic analysis used for collective and analyses data from 20 citizens. This sample selected equally from north and south of Tehran as developed and undeveloped Urban region. Conceptual framework consist Blasé outlook of Simmel, meaning of memory and city of Benjamin and concepts of alienation and spaces of representation in Lefebvre theory. Findings reveal that process of regeneration destroys memories of citizens. They can’t relate with new Urban spaces. Regeneration makes separation image from north and south of Tehran. Residents of south feel sense of deprivation, exclusion and inequality. Interviewees miss their human relationship like neighbors, so they feel loneliness. Totally, elements of city image of residents show alienated sense of place in Tehran.

Abstract: 

AB-Boshghabi (Centella asiatica) from Apiaceae family, has been used as a traditional herbal medicine in Asiatic countries for hundreds of years.This plant is indigenous to the warmer regions of both hemispheres, including southeast Africa, Asia, Srilanka, the Pacific Islands, Madagascar, Eastern South America, Venezuela, Columbia. It is especially abundant in the swampy areas of India, Iran (around the Anzali lagoon), and Pakistan, Upto an altitude of approximately 700m.This hygrophyte plant is considered as a "vulnerable species" in the Red data book of plant species of Iran. This valuable hygrophyte species has a definitely exclusive habitat around the Anzali lagoon. The major principles are the triterpenes asiatic acid and madecassic acid, and their derived triterpene ester glycosides, asiaticoside and madecassoside.The major clinical indications for the use of centella asiatica in human include the treatment of wounds, venous insufficiency of the limbs, Certain mycobacterial infections and cellulitus. In the present article, we review mainly medicinal aspect of Centella asiatica that hitherto has not received much attention.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The study purpose was to determine and compare the Recall and Precision of Bing and Google image search engines for content based image retrieval. Methodology: The research used webometrics and comparative methods. Population includes images stored in the databases of Bing and Google search engines, and research sample includes 15 selective images searched in any of search engines. All the retrieved sources through the images by image content based image search were gathered, results’ Recall and Precision measures were calculated by relevance formula and their average percentage were obtained. Research hypotheses were tested by U Mann-Whitney test as well. Findings: Findings showed that the Google search engine functionality was higher with recall measure of % 88. 73 than recall rate (%20. 86) for Bing. But Bing search engine had higher precision (% 99. 86) than Google (%94. 80). Results: Hypotheses tests on recall and precision in two search engines’ image retrieval showed a significant difference for recall in favor of Google, indicating its better functionality than Bing but there was no significant difference between them concerning precision since both showed fair precision however Bing was relatively useful.

Abstract: 

In this paper, an alternative approach in operational modal analysis is presented, utilizing image processing technique and transmissibility functions. Imaging sensors do not impose additional mass on the structure due to their non-contact nature, while transmissibility functions, independent of excitation type, can directly extract mode shapes. The innovation of this research lies in combining these two techniques to record dynamic responses and identify modal properties. To capture the temporal response history from video signals, the block-matching method with sub-pixel accuracy was employed. Validation was conducted by recording the response of the tip of a cantilevered steel beam subjected to impact excitation, using a high-speed camera and a laser vibrometer, simultaneously. The RMSE plots in the time domain and the PSD in the frequency domain indicate high accuracy of this method. Using this approach, the displacement time histories of various points on the structure were extracted from the video signals, and the modal properties, including natural frequencies, damping ratios, and mode shapes, were identified using the transmissibility matrix method. The results obtained from the proposed method were compared with the stochastic subspace identification (SSI) method and analytical solutions. The findings reveal the accuracy of the modal identification approach introduced in this article. The highest relative error in estimating the natural frequencies of the first and second modes, compared to the values from the laser method, are 0.19% and 0.13%, respectively, and in comparison to the analytical values, they are 0.34% and 1.5%, respectively.

Abstract: 

Urban tourism is a complex, multi-sectoral and dispersed activity, the product of which is the sale of tourists' experiences of the city's attractions, facilities and services. Paying attention to and organizing natural, human and visual factors influencing the beauty of the environment is the most effective way to increase the quality of the travel experience. Considering the undeniable necessity of mental image in attracting Urban tourists and the role of this type of tourism in the economy, in this study, an attempt has been made to provide a qualitative model of factors affecting mental image with the aim of boosting Urban tourism using semantic cognitive mapping method. For this purpose, after stating the subject, theoretical foundations and reviewing the research background, 30 interviews were conducted using the qualitative research design until the theoretical saturation was reached. The study population consists of Urban tourists and tourism experts. Then, using the semantic cognitive mapping approach, a conceptual model was extracted and drawn from the dimensions and components of the mental image. The obtained semantic cognitive mapping has 6 main categories and 30 theoretical propositions that can help policymakers in policy making and better and deeper understanding of this concept.

Abstract: 

Toady, one of the main factors contributing to the air pollution in such metropolises as Tehran are the suspended particles resulting from automobiles, heavy traffic on the roads,  and different industrial activities.Particulate matter (PM) is a generic term used to describe a complex group of air pollutants that vary in size and composition, depending on the location and the time of their dispersion. The PM mixture of fine airborne solid particles and liquid droplets (aerosols) include components of nitrates, sulfates, elemental carbon, organic carbon compounds, acid aerosols, trace metals, and geological materials.ADMS-Urban is an advanced model which is used for calculating concentrations of pollutants emitted continuously from point, line, volume, and area sources and of pollutants emitted intermittently from point sources. The model is an advanced Gaussian-type model and uses Gaussian distribution for such concentrations and is recommended for regulatory use for multiple buoyant or passive industrial emissions from Urban or rural areas of flat or complex terrains with transport distances less than 50 km and periods of time ranging from a few seconds to a year.The percentage of the suspended particles and meteorological parameters such as the speed and direction of the wind, temperature, and cloud cover were measured for the city’s municipality District 22 over a year, twice in a day (morning and afternoon), and for one week in each month. The data were collected at 13 mobile measurement stations during the critical time of traffic (the time with the highest rate of density and dispersion of suspended particles in the air).The obtained results were presented in the GIS environment of the District because of the availability of sheets in that environment. The output of this mathematical model was compared with the inventory model (databank) of the air pollution in District 22. The results showed a similarity between the output of the mathematical modeling and the real measured data.This model has been used for the first time for modeling the pattern of particles emission in Tehran. The results also showed that due to the existing vehicles and traffic, Tehran-Karaj freeway and the eastern border of District 22 had the highest density and concentration of suspended particles.
